The pro football players have gone on strike and to keep the games
going, the big-wigs have brought in a bunch of failures - they are 'the
replacements'. These are guys who, for one reason or another, have not
made it to the big leagues but have been given a second chance to play until the
strike is over. Of course, since the players are has-beens, the coach must
be a has-been himself. So they brought in a previously problematic coach to lead
this team to victory. Duh.
If you paraphrase a book and publish it again, would you get into trouble? I think so & if not, wouldn't you be frowned upon at the very least?! So why do they keep making the same sports story movies?? Bring in the crappy players, a crappy coach & their old problems. Then, rumble around a lot, get instantly organized and work great together. After unicen has been reached, kick butt. Oh, and don't forget the love part; you gotta have romance cuz what would a crappy movie be without a crappy side love story...a crappier movie? I'm glad I didn't pay to see this...but that's another story (& probably more interesting than this movie).
